1Introduction
Welcome to Ledger ("the App", "we", "our" or "us"). Ledger is a simple and smart account book app that helps you track cash in and cash out, manage multiple accounts, and review your transaction history.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Phone number — used to create and sign in to your account with a one-time password (OTP).
- Google account details — if you choose to sign in or link your Google account, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Profile information — an optional display name and profile photo you may add in the App.
- Financial entries — the account names, transaction amounts, notes and dates you record in your ledgers. These are records you create; we never access your bank accounts or real financial institutions.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — basic technical information such as device type and app version, used to keep the App working reliably.
- Advertising identifiers — our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may collect your device's advertising ID to show ads. See the Advertising section.
3How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to operate and improve the App. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
4Data Storage & Sync
- In the cloud — when you are signed in, your accounts and transactions are synchronised to Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) under your unique user ID, so your data is backed up and can be restored if you change devices.
Cloud data is protected behind your authenticated login and is not shared with other users.
5Third-Party Services
The App relies on a small number of trusted service providers to function:
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Cloud Firestore) — sign-in and secure cloud storage. Firebase Privacy
- Google Sign-In — optional login with your Google account. Google Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob — displays advertisements in the App. AdMob Privacy
- OTP delivery service — sends the one-time password SMS used to verify your phone number.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy, and we only share the minimum required for the service to work.
6Advertising
Ledger is free to use and supported by advertisements served through Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier and related signals to show ads that are more relevant to you.
You can limit ad personalisation at any time from your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete or reset advertising ID.

Permissions are requested only when needed, and the App continues to work if you decline optional ones.
8Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your data only for as long as your account exists. You are always in control:
- Delete individual entries or accounts — anytime, inside the App.
- Delete your entire account — from the Profile screen in the App. This permanently removes your login and all synced data from our servers.
9Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including OTP-verified sign-in, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and Firebase security rules that restrict your data to your own account. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using reasonable and appropriate measures.
10Children's Privacy
Ledger is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
11Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced inside the App. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
